Surgery is expensive, and plastic surgery is no exception. Because cosmetic plastic surgery is not covered by insurance, we understand the financial burden, and have taken a number of steps to help.
Perhaps the most important is that we have worked to keep the cost down, but not at the cost of safety or patient care. We do all of our surgery either at a hospital or at a surgery center operated by the hospital. We do all of our surgery with a real physician anesthesiologist (no nurse anesthetists) who can focus his or her entire concentration on your health while Dr. Nachbar focuses his concentration on getting you the best possible result. We do all of our surgery under general anesthesia, because that is the safest and most comfortable way to do it.
As you are considering your financial options, remember not to sacrifice your safety for a few dollars.
Payment for cosmetic surgery is due at the pre-operative visit or at least two weeks before surgery, whichever is sooner. In addition, we require a $500 scheduling deposit within 24 hours of scheduling your surgery, which is applied to your surgical fee and which is fully refundable if your surgery is cancelled at least 14 days in advance.
For your convenience, we also collect payment for the surgical facility and anesthesiologist, and do not charge you additional if the surgery goes longer than expected. As a result, the fee for the facility and anesthesiologist may not match the actual charges, since those actual charges cannot be precisely known in advance. This way, you do not need to bring money to the surgery center, although identification is still required by the center.
Most patients pay for surgery using a credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, and accept both credit cards and debit cards.
You can also pay with cash or cashier's check. We also work with several financing companies, including CareCredit. Please call our Scottsdale, Arizona office for more details -- we will do everything we can to help!
